Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Slate, software provided by EvolveTech Consulting LLC (“EvolveTech”, “we”), a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, United States. By installing or using Slate you agree to them.
What Slate does
Slate reads business documents you give it — from a connected Gmail account, or uploaded by hand — extracts the relevant fields, and records them against a job in the CRM account you connect. It is a tool that acts on your instructions and with your credentials.
Your responsibility for what is filed
Slate writes to your CRM, and those writes are permanent. The CRM APIs Slate uses provide no way to delete a payment, document or note once created; removing one requires doing it by hand in the CRM itself.
Slate files a document automatically only when the evidence is unambiguous, and asks you to confirm in every other case. Even so, you remain responsible for reviewing what is recorded in your CRM. We recommend checking new entries before relying on them for accounting.
Your accounts
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, for having the authority to connect the Gmail and CRM accounts you connect, and for all activity carried out through them. Tell us promptly at hello@evolvetech-consulting.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Slate to process documents you have no right to access, to attempt to breach or overload our systems or those of our providers, or to resell access without a written agreement with us.
Third-party services
Slate depends on services we do not control — Google (Gmail and the Gemini API), your CRM provider, Stripe and Supabase. Their availability, pricing and terms are theirs. If one of them changes or fails, parts of Slate may stop working until we adapt.
Subscription and payment
Slate is sold as a subscription billed through Stripe. Fees are charged in advance for each billing period and, except where the law requires otherwise, are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of the period already paid for. If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, access is suspended.
Availability
We aim to keep Slate working and to fix problems promptly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may release updates that change how features behave.
No warranty
Slate is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Automated document reading is not perfect; we do not warrant that every extraction or match will be correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EvolveTech is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability arising out of or relating to Slate is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Slate at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, if payment fails, or if continuing would expose us or a third-party provider to legal risk. Data held on your own device remains yours; uninstalling Slate does not remove anything already written to your CRM.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced to subscribers by email before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Slate after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of New Mexico have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
