Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026

This policy explains what EvolveTech Consulting LLC (“EvolveTech”, “we”) collects when you use Slate, and what we do with it. Slate is a desktop and mobile application that reads business documents — supplier invoices, checks, crew pay sheets, insurance estimates and aerial reports — and files them against the correct job in your CRM.

Google user data

Slate’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use your Gmail data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it, and we do not use it to train any machine learning or AI model.

What we access

If you connect a Gmail account, Slate requests the gmail.modify scope. It uses that access for exactly two things:

Why the scope is what it is

Applying a label is a write operation, and Google offers no narrower scope that permits reading a message and labelling it. A read-only scope would leave Slate unable to remember what it had already handled, which would result in duplicate charges being filed to your CRM.

Where the data goes

Documents are processed on your own computer or phone. The contents of a document are sent to two places, and nowhere else:

We do not operate a server that stores your documents or your email. EvolveTech has no copy of them.

Where credentials are kept

Your Google authorisation token, CRM API key and any other credentials are stored on your own device: in the application’s local data folder on desktop, and in the system Keychain on iPhone. They are never transmitted to us.

Revoking access

You can disconnect Gmail from inside Slate at any time, or revoke it from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking takes effect immediately and Slate stops reading your mailbox.

Account and billing data

To run your subscription we store your email address and your subscription status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Account records are held in Supabase, our database provider.

Diagnostic information

Slate records a local activity log on your device so you can see what it did on each run. If you contact support, you may choose to send us an excerpt. We do not collect it automatically.

Retention

Because documents and email are processed on your device and never reach our servers, there is nothing for us to retain. Account and billing records are kept for as long as your subscription is active, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us what account data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it once your subscription has ended. Write to hello@evolvetech-consulting.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Slate is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle Google user data, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
